Why Delta Chi Lambda?

Our Mission

​Our Mission Statement:
Delta Chi Lambda seeks to bring positive Asian American awareness to the university and local community. We strongly emphasize leadership roles among Asian Americans by striving to become leaders and mature young women through our activities. We provide our sisters with a lifetime of sisterhood and loyalty that will endure for years after they leave the university.

Our purpose

Delta Chi Lambda exists to create well-rounded ladies of leadership in integrity. We support the growth of our members through our 5 pillars: Academics, Sisterhood, Leadership, Service & Philanthropy, and Asian awareness. ​

​Our pillars

• ACADEMICS: This is the first priority of the sorority. We seek to build a supportive foundation to set up our sisters for academic success by promoting and teaching time management, organization skills, and scholastic responsibility. 
• SISTERHOOD: This is the heart of the sorority. We seek to create bonds that last the test of time. Through various sisterhood events, we provide our members with opportunities to create memories with and get to know each other, creating a happy and safe, family-like environment for our members throughout their college years and more. 
• LEADERSHIP: This is the standard that we hold our members to. Aside from providing opportunities for our members to hold leadership positions within the sorority, we encourage our members to become leadership in their various communities in order to create positive skills they can use after they leave the university.
• SERVICE & PHILANTHROPY: These are ingrained in the DNA of all Greek-lettered organizations. The sorority seeks to give back through the raising of money for our national philanthropy, the United Nations World Food Program, and giving our time to local non-profit organizations. 
• ASIAN AWARENESS: This is a key part of our organization. Delta Chi Lambda was founded on the principle of promoting positive Asian and Asian American awareness. As our sorority was founded in a state with a relatively low Asian population, we seek to empower our communities by emphasizing leadership roles among Asians and Asian Americans. 

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an interest group?

A group of at minimum, of 10 women who are pursuing becoming new members, and eventually, sisters of Delta Chi Lambda. The group will not be officially affiliated with Delta Chi Lambda, and is a period of time which the women will learn the history and values of our sorority with the guidance of the Expansion Chair(s). ​

What is an expansion chair?

The Expansion Chair will be your first point of contact in the Expansion process. She will be there to guide and support you and/or your interest group into becoming a recognized organization on campus. ​

Will being a part of an interest group hinder me from my academics?

Academics is Delta Chi Lambda's first and most important pillar, and the sorority has policies in order to ensure each member's success both within the sorority and academically. ​

Do i have to be asian to join?

Absolutely not! We pride ourselves in being inclusive of everyone and have non-discrimination policies in place. No chapter or colony of Delta Chi Lambda shall exclude anyone on the basis of race, nationality, religion, age, and sexual orientation.

Requirements:

Interest requirement

Create an interest group of a minimum of 10 dedicated women and one faculty advisor.

• Grade point average of 2.5 or above
• Full-time enrolled college student.

other requirement(s):

Be in regular contact with Expansion Chair(s) in order to assure a smooth transition of Delta Chi Lambda into the University.
